Within the sales organization, the Business Consulting team (Presales Consultants) plays a key role and makes a strong contribution to sales success. The main expectations for the team are:
- Improve the efficiency of sales processes,
- Be client-centric, independent of service or product,
- Represent “One ADP” to our clients,
- Leverage strong business consulting practices to differentiate ADP in the market with a TCO approach, references, Challenger sales, and business insights,
- Become the client’s trusted advisor, understanding and acting on external environment trends.
Position Missions
In close collaboration with Sales Directors, Implementation, and Client Service teams, the Business Consulting Manager will actively participate in the sales process.
They will be responsible for defining, building, and supporting the best, most differentiating ADP commercial offer to best meet client expectations and ADP’s needs.
As the manager of the Italy & Spain Business Consulting team, they will assign Consultants to opportunities and present necessary trade-offs to Top Management.
Responsibilities
Their missions will notably include:
- Contributing to the definition of strategic directions in terms of product/service-market positioning,
- Developing general arguments and methodologies to:
- Qualify technical needs expressed by clients during negotiations,
- Research and recommend technical choices and solutions that best meet client needs,
- Prepare the technical response for RFPs or collaborate on commercial proposals,
- Support responses to clients and contribute to negotiations to defend the proposed solution,
- Demonstrate the competitive advantages and functional and/or technical fit of the solution.
- Managing (planning, coordinating, and controlling) the teams supporting sales aka Business Consultants,
- Defining and managing the corresponding resources,
- Providing methodological and technical support to teams marketing ADP’s offers and solutions,
- Contributing to the evolution of offers (with Marketing, R&D, and Operations) and sales materials.
As Business Consulting Manager, the employee must act as a management relay for the Southern EMEA Presales Director within their team. In this respect, expectations are both:
From an operational perspective, they manage autonomously and report regularly to their management on the following:
In business reviews:
- Qualify requests from Sales and manage their “expectations” regarding the roles and responsibilities of Presales Consultants/Sales,
- Present the status to Sales and necessary trade-offs.
In general:
- Identify and resolve technical, operational, and organizational issues within their scope,
- Escalate to their N+1 management for issues requiring escalation,
- Deploy actions to ensure his/her team achieves a high level of service in terms of quality, volume, and deadlines.
From a team management perspective, directly managing a team of Business Consultants involves:
- Developing a performance culture that drives associates to excellence and ensures alignment of individual priorities with collective interests,
- Encouraging individual development actions by leveraging team strengths,
- Creating a work environment that fosters diversity and inclusion within the team,
- Defining action plans to optimize the workload of Business Consultants,
- Ensuring the team follows the processes defined at the Business Consulting team level. They must ensure consistency in practices and the distribution of Sales/Presales Consultant tasks within their team.
Your Profile
We are looking for a candidate as enthusiastic and passionate as we are, who can bring:
- 8+ years of proven experience in Business Consulting/HRIS/Payroll, ideally with management experience,
- A solid understanding of Human Resources Information Systems, architecture, technologies, and the full range of HR and payroll activities,
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills,
- Fluency in English is mandatory; additional languages (as Spanish) are a plus,
- Experience building informative and well-organized presentations,
- Ability to communicate difficult/sensitive information with tact,
- Team spirit, good listening skills, and ability to act as a client advisor,
- Ability to quickly learn new procedures, skills, and techniques
- Ability to deliver critical information on time to internal analysis teams, sponsors, clients, and other stakeholders, and to prioritize work,
- Ability to interact effectively with both technical and non-technical audiences through verbal and written communication. You are based in Milano, Italy, with domestic and international travel as needed.
